ReelSort Privacy Policy

This policy covers the ReelSort browser extension. It is separate from the general topratedaitools.com privacy policy.

ReelSort is a Chrome extension that helps you rank, export, download, and transcribe the reels and posts of an Instagram profile for content research. It runs entirely in your browser. There is no ReelSort server, and the developer does not collect, receive, store, or sell any of your data.

What ReelSort accesses, and where it goes

• Instagram data. When you press Start, ReelSort reads a profile's public media (captions, view, like, and comment counts, media URLs) by calling Instagram's own web API using your existing logged-in session, the same requests the Instagram website makes. This data is processed locally and shown in the panel. It is never sent to the developer.
• Settings and API keys. Your preferences (transcription provider, pacing, and any API key you choose to add) are stored locally on your device. They never leave your browser except as described under "Optional cloud transcription" below, and are never sent to the developer.
• Transcript cache. Transcripts you generate are cached locally, keyed by the Instagram media id, so the same reel is never transcribed twice. You can clear this cache at any time from the toolbar popup.
• Downloads and exports. Videos, images, and CSV, JSON, or XLSX files are saved to your computer only when you explicitly choose to download or export them.

Network requests ReelSort makes

1. Instagram (instagram.com, cdninstagram.com, fbcdn.net): to read profile media with your session and to download media you select.
2. Hugging Face (huggingface.co, hf.co): to download the local Whisper speech-to-text model the first time you transcribe on-device. The model files are cached by your browser afterward. This is a download of model data only.
3. Optional cloud transcription (off by default): if, and only if, you select Groq or AssemblyAI in Settings and add your own API key, ReelSort sends the audio of the reel you transcribe to that provider so it can return a transcript. Your use of that provider is governed by that provider's own privacy policy and terms. ReelSort does not act as an intermediary and receives nothing.

ReelSort contains no analytics, no tracking, no telemetry, and no advertising. It makes no requests to any server operated by the developer, because there is none.

Permissions

• storage: save your settings and the local transcript cache.
• downloads: save the media and export files you choose.
• offscreen: run on-device speech-to-text, which Manifest V3 only allows in an offscreen document.

Your control

You can clear the transcript cache and remove any API key from the toolbar popup, and you can uninstall the extension at any time, which removes all locally stored data.
